Workplace Psychologist
A Workplace Psychologist for Healthier, Higher-Performing Teams
Most workplace problems are not skills problems. They are patterns — in how people communicate, how teams handle pressure, and how safe people feel to speak up, disagree, or ask for help.
As a workplace psychologist and workplace wellbeing consultant, we help organisations understand what is really happening beneath the surface, so that culture change and wellbeing initiatives are grounded in genuine psychological insight, not generic policy.
Taking Psychological Safety at Work Seriously
Wellbeing policies, engagement surveys, and one-off training days can only go so far. Real, lasting change in how people experience work comes from understanding the underlying dynamics — the relationships, hierarchies, and unspoken pressures that shape behaviour every day.
As a workplace culture consultant grounded in psychology, we look beneath the presenting problem — whether that is burnout, conflict, disengagement, or high turnover — to what is actually driving it. Building psychological safety at work is not a slogan for us; it is a specific, evidence-based outcome we help leaders and teams work towards, deliberately and measurably.
This is what applied psychology in the workplace looks like in practice: rigorous, human, and genuinely effective.
Support Across Wellbeing, Culture, and Team Dynamics
Whether you are responding to a specific concern — rising stress, a difficult team dynamic, low morale after change — or want to take a proactive approach to workplace wellbeing and culture, our work as your workplace psychologist is built around your organisation, not a fixed programme.
Typical areas we work on with clients include:
- Diagnosing the root causes of stress, burnout, or disengagement within teams
- Supporting leaders and teams through organisational change, restructuring, or uncertainty
- Developing workplace wellbeing strategy that goes beyond policy, to real behaviour change
- Building psychological safety at work, so people feel able to speak up and contribute honestly
- Improving communication, trust, and collaboration within and between teams
- Working with leadership to shape a healthier, more resilient workplace culture
Every engagement begins with a true understanding your organisation — we do not arrive with a template. As your workplace wellbeing consultant and workplace culture consultant, we design the intervention around what is actually happening, not what is assumed to be happening.
Meet Dr. Zahra Shariff
I founded Busara because I wanted to bring something different to the world of leadership and organisational consultancy — a practice grounded in psychological expertise, not just coaching frameworks and management theory.
As a Corporate Psychologist, my background brings together three disciplines: counselling psychology, executive coaching, and organisational consultancy.
I hold a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, a Master’s in organisational consulting from the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, and executive coaching training from Henley Business School. I am also Hogan certified, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and a registered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Over the past 10 years, I have worked with individuals, teams, and organisations across the NHS, government departments, charities, social enterprises, and the private sector. I understand the pressures of leadership — the complexity, the isolation, and the weight of responsibility — because I have sat with people navigating all of it.
As a mother as well as a practitioner, I bring a deeply human perspective to the work. My approach is rooted in psychology-led coaching — integrating psychoanalytic and systemic thinking with practical, forward-focused coaching. I create a space where it is safe to be honest — about challenges, about patterns, about what you actually want — so that leaders, teams, and organisations can navigate complexity, strengthen relationships, and build change that lasts.
