Management Coaching
Management Coaching That Builds Managers Who Can Actually Lead
Being good at the job is not the same as being ready to manage the people doing it. Most new and experienced managers are promoted for their technical skill, then left to work out leadership by trial and error — often at real cost to their team and to themselves.
Our management coaching gets underneath that gap. We combine leadership coaching for managers with real psychological expertise, so the confidence and capability you build is grounded in a real understanding of yourself and the people you manage — not a script.
Leadership Coaching for Managers, not a Generic Training Course
Most management training teaches models: how to run a one-to-one, how to give feedback, how to structure a difficult conversation. These are useful — but they rarely stick, because they are not built around the manager using them.
As a leadership development consultant, our founder brings a doctorate in counselling psychology and years of clinical and coaching training to every engagement. That means our management coaching starts with what is actually going on for you — your instincts under pressure, the habits you default to when a conversation gets difficult, the patterns that either serve your team or quietly undermine them.
This is leadership coaching that is rigorous, evidence-based, and built to last — because it is grounded in a real understanding of people, not a slide deck.
Coaching for Managers at Every Stage
Whether you are managing for the first time, leading a team through a difficult period, or an experienced manager who has hit a ceiling you cannot quite name, our management coaching is built around you — not a fixed curriculum.
Typical areas we work on with managers include:
- Making the shift from doing the work to leading the people who do it
- Giving honest, effective feedback without avoidance or over-softening
- Handling underperformance, conflict, and difficult conversations with confidence
- Building trust and psychological safety within your team
- Managing your own stress, workload, and visibility as a manager
- Developing a management style that is genuinely yours, rather than borrowed
Every engagement is one-to-one and bespoke. We do not run off-the-shelf management courses — we work with the manager in front of us.
Meet Your Management Coach Dr. Zahra Shariff
I work with managers who want more than a checklist of techniques. My background is in psychology — I hold a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, Master’s in organisational consulting from the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, and executive coaching training from Henley Business School. I am also Hogan certified, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and a registered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Over the past 10 years, I have provided management and leadership coaching to individuals and teams across the NHS, government departments, charities, social enterprises, and the private sector. I understand the pressure of being the person in the middle — accountable upwards and responsible downwards — because I have sat with managers navigating exactly that.
My approach integrates psychoanalytic and systemic thinking with practical, forward-focused coaching. When we work together, you get a space where it is safe to be honest about what management actually feels like day to day — so the change you make holds under pressure, not just in the room.

Psychological Insight. Practical Impact.
Zahra works alongside Renée Mann, an organisational consultant and Chartered Member of the CIPD, to bring both psychological depth and organisational strategy to management coaching. This means the coaching your managers receive is never separated from the reality of the organisation they work in — its culture, its pressures, and its people.
We work across the UK with individual managers and with organisations of all sizes — from ambitious SMEs and growing charities to NHS trusts, government departments, and corporate businesses.
If you are ready to invest in management coaching that treats your managers’ development seriously — with rigour, care, and psychological expertise — we would welcome the conversation.
